The jury

The mission of the International Jury is to judge the work of the eight shortlisted candidates nominated by the experts and declare one of them the winner of the Purvītis Prize.

The Jury is chaired by the Director of the LNMA and co-chaired by a representative of the Museum Patron.

The Jury selects the winner of the Prize after evaluating the argumentation submitted by the Panel of Experts and the works on view at the Prize Exhibition.

The meetings of the Jury are closed. The Jury adopts its decision following a discussion, by open voting with simple majority. In case the votes are evenly split, the Chair of the Jury has the casting voice.

The Jury’s decision is made public at the Prize awarding ceremony.
